More Baby Shower Games

Baby shower games are a tradition. They are just as much a part of the actual event as the gifts, the food and the camaraderie. As you are probably aware, there are wide varieties of games to choose from. But, not all games are suitable for every baby shower. It’s best to take into consideration just who will be in attendance and the size of the crowd, before making any final decisions.

If you are on a limited budget there are many ‘paper and pen’ type games that are fun to play. You can either create the game sheets yourself or purchase them preprinted. Actually, the second option is not that much more expensive than the first and it will save you time, as well.

This type of game works well with crowds who don’t know each other well or who seem to be a bit shy. Guests can easily stay seated and are not required to get up and move around. Because of this, the same games are well suited to be played at baby showers, which are hosted in smaller spaces.

Common examples of paper and pen games include: Fun Facts and The Name Game. Playing the fun facts game is a great way for your guests to get to know each other. Even the guests that feel they know each other well just might learn something new.

As each guest arrives, give them two or three blank pieces of paper. Ask them to write down one unique fact about themselves, on each one. This can be anything from a job they’ve held, their middle name, a unique hobby, where they were born, or even a hidden talent.

Fold each paper and place in a jar. At game time, draw one at a time, reading it out loud to the crowd. The winner of the game is the person who matches the most fun facts to the person who wrote them.

The name game is easy for everyone to participate in. Have each guest write down two names, for the baby. First, middle and last. If the gender of the baby is known, choose either boy or girl names, whichever is appropriate. If the gender is not known, have them choose one of each.

Once everyone has written down the names, instruct them to find as many words as they can, out of each set of names. The winner is the guest who comes up with the most words, during a specific amount of time.

These are just two more examples of great baby shower games, which are guaranteed to add enjoyment to the event.
